Pinterest Reveals 2017 Interiors Trends

It’s that time of year when everyone stops and looks back over the past 12 months to see what’s been big, and starts to look ahead to the coming year to predict new trends.

Pinterest has put together a huge board covering all manner of trends that it thinks will be big in 2017, including a number for home interiors.

Rustic and farmhouse designs are both set to be popular in the coming 12 months according to the website, and there’s no better way to create homely warmth than by making your fireplace the centre of attention in your living room.

Reclaimed fireplaces are a particularly good choice if you’re hoping to instill a rustic feel in your home, and can be paired with worn-look wood furniture and accessories to tie everything together.

Another trend that came to the fore this winter – and that Pinterest believes will continue into 2017 – is Hygge. This Danish concept refers to living a happy and comfortable life, but as we discussed earlier this month, it’s become a big home design trend too.

We think introducing a fireplace into your home, if you don’t already have one, is a great way to get the Hygge atmosphere, and if you pair this with comfortable interior touches like soft throws on sofas, chunky cushions and rustic accents, you’ll create the perfect sanctuary in your living room.

A place where you and your family can unwind, destress and be happy, with the warmth of an open fire to help you unwind in the colder months of the year.
