Art nouveau fire surround (AWS-1610) a spectacular Art nouveau fire surround in solid oak having a bowed shelf rising to an exquisite hand carved foliate central carving with a pair of beautifully inlaid stylised poppy’s either side and flanked by a pair of exquisitely ornate copper panels in turn flanked by a pair fine floral carvings. This is one of the best Art nouveau fireplaces I’ve seen. Pictures don’t do it justice. There have been a few cosmetic repairs through its life, but nothing that detracts from its originality and opulence. The inside opening has had slips added to easier accommodate an appropriate fire insert; these can easily be removed if not required. It measures 57’’wide x 79’’high, with a fireplace opening of 36’’wide x 37’’high. It’s priced at £3500.00.
