Victorian cast iron fire surround (ACS-1587) a magnificent Victorian cast iron fire surround with gloriously detailed side panels in the Aesthetic style with a superbly cast pair of putties rising to intricate floral and avian decoration, with classical swag and Patrice detailing above. It was made in the Biclam iron foundry by the Bennetts iron company in Ardwick Manchester and dates to 1881 although it was still available for sale in the Young and Martin catalogue for 1897. The design is based on another fireplace from the same company ‘’The Beconsfield’’ although this has much more lavish detailing. It measures 61’’wide x 49’’high and has an opening 36’’wide x 36’’high, Its priced at £1700.00.

Stamped on the back as ‘’The Salisbury’’ this model was also marketed as ‘’The Campbell’’ by other companies of the time. Fully restored and including a superb set of original Victorian Aesthetic style tiles depicting birds and flowers.
